James and I decided we missed cats so much but couldn't justify getting more. We didn't want to replace our lovely furry pals we had to give up before the move to London. Also, we do not feel we will stay rooted here for more than three years. Our solution! Foster cats! The first major worry - how can we give them back after falling in love with them over a few weeks - to months. Hopefully, the fact that we know they need to be returned from the beginning should make this process easier.
Application was submitted and many months later we got a little kitty family to look after. It's such a lovely thing to be a part of. It was stressed when I collected the cats that the first few months in a kittens life is super important and shape the kind of cats they will become. Fostering gives them the chance to get used to normal noises: TV, washing machine, people etc. It helps them become little chilled out guys rather than being stuck in a cattery until they can be separated from mum.
So our first foster family were Dolly and her two kittens Dizzy and Daffy (Dizzy was black and white and Daffy all black). We had them for just over a month over the Christmas period. It was the best way to spend the holidays hanging out with these guys!
We already miss them loads but are happy to say the kittens already have a new home and hopefully mum will have a loving family soon too. Can't wait to our next furry friends which we expect to get around April!
