Long time no see...

Well it's been a long while since I last updated this sad little blog so thought I would give it another go. I had a fabulous year last year! Went to Malawi with 8 other nursing and medical students to work in an orphanage and see a little bit of the world. It was a wonderful month and to get there I completed many fundraising activities - one of which was a Cupcake & Cocktail night where I baked many yummy cupcakes to help me get to Malawi.

It was a success :)

In Malawi spending time with the wonderful girls at Tilinanu orphanage was eye opening - they are so talented! When we arrived we dished out our donations and they burst into song bringing tears to our eyes. One of those moments of a lifetime you can never quite do justice with words.

This was their information wall in their main hall where they did all manner of activities from school work to knitting - they were mean knitters!













 Here they performed an awesome song to send us off. That year they were due to sing at the Lake of Stars festival 2011 but sadly I was back in the UK when this was to take place.
